You have a right to appeal Special Assessments and Tax Liens with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia within six (6) months after the date of Notice. Be advised that you must first pay the assessed tax in order to have standing to file an appeal. Your appeal must be received by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia by the deadline stated above. The Superior Court of the District of Columbia is an independent authority that shall hear and determine all questions arising on appeal, and may affirm, cancel, reduce, or increase the assessment.
