Dear \[Customer\],

Please be advised that the Department of Buildings (DOB) has moved to a communication platform, known as Kustomer Relationship Management (KRM) or simply ‘Kustomer’, which allows your inquiry or concern to be addressed in a faster and more efficient manner.  As such, if you would like to reach DOB staff directly, please ensure that you send your emails to [**dcracs@dc.gov**](mailto:dcracs@dc.gov "mailto:dcracs@dc.gov").  Feel free to include any external DOB recipients in the ‘To’ and ‘Cc’ fields of the email.  In the body of the email, state the staff person(s) and/or the DOB office(s)/administration(s), with whom you wish to communicate.  Once your email is received, it is routed to the intended staff person(s) and/or DOB office(s)/administration(s) identified.  If you are uncertain of the person(s) and/or DOB office(s)/administration(s) who should receive your email, feel free to direct it to ‘_Dear DOB_’.  Your inquiry or concern will be reviewed and routed to the appropriate DOB staff and office/administration.

The Kustomer platform tracks the receipt of all emails and DOB staff is required to respond within 24 business hours.  When DOB staff responds to your inquiry or concern, it will be sent from [**dcracs@dc.gov**](mailto:dcracs@dc.gov "mailto:dcracs@dc.gov").  All external DOB recipients to whom your initial email was also addressed, will be copied on the email.  You will not see individual email addresses for each staff person to whom your initial email was directed.  Don’t worry!  Those staff persons are internally notified, via the Kustomer platform, of the response to your email.  Please also ensure that any follow up emails that you send, are addressed to the same email.  Feel free to include any new, or remove previous, external DOB recipients in the ‘To’ and ‘Cc’ fields of the email, as you wish, and be sure to remove all email addresses of DOB staff from those fields.  Your follow up emails will also be routed to the intended staff person(s) and office(s)/administration(s) identified in the body of the email.

Alternatively, if you are visiting DOB’s website, you can get in touch with the staff via our ‘Contact Us’ page, [https://dcra.kustomer.help/contact/contactus-SkowCOjX8](https://dcra.kustomer.help/contact/contactus-SkowCOjX8 "https://dcra.kustomer.help/contact/contactus-skowcojx8").  Simply complete the form and select ‘Submit’.  Your inquiry or concern will be reviewed and routed to the appropriate DOB staff and office/administration and you will receive follow up within 24 business hours.  Once you receive follow up, and if it is via email, please use the instructions above for sending follow up emails if there is a need to continue communication with DOB in that way.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping DOB to enhance its tracking and managing of your emailed inquiries and concerns, in order to serve you in a more proficient way.  We greatly appreciate it!

Regards,
