**DOB Subpoena Policy During Public Health Emergency**

In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency, the Department of Buildings (DOB) building is currently closed to the public, and the majority of staff are teleworking. As a result, the DOB Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is unable to accept service of subpoenas during this time. However, DOB OGC will work with requesters to fulfill document requests to the extent possible.

If you have a **subpoena requesting documents only**, please send the request to oaheserve.dcra@dc.gov and DOB will attempt to fulfill the subpoena request to the extent possible while working remotely, without waiving its right to challenge service or raise other defenses.

If you have a **subpoena requesting testimony of a DOB custodian of records**, please send the request to oaheserve.dcra@dc.gov and DOB will determine on a case by case basis whether accommodations can be made to fulfill the request, without waiving its right to challenge service or raise other defenses.

If you have a **subpoena requesting testimony of a DOB employee**, DOB OGC cannot accept service and you must personally serve the employee.
